Penny-pinchers unite!

Okay, so I'll admit it. I PAY ATTENTION TO HOW MUCH THINGS COST!!... and I don't like to pay more for something that I KNOW is cheaper somewhere else. So, the other day Jeff had the day off of school and I come home from work. We had zero food. (at least zero that was worth eating...) So Jeff asks me what we're going to do, and I decided that we could all go grocery shopping. While we're at the store (and not the store I usually go to, because Jeff hates that store.) I happen to mention a couple of times that some of the food is more expensive then I usually pay. And Jeff says... "Shut up. Stop whining." !!!! EXCUSE ME??? Shut up!!! What is that all about??? Stop WHINING!!!! I'll show you whining!!!!!!! Anyway, apparently he says I've been whining the whole time we're there about how much food is at this store! And I can't believe it! All I did was mention that I could get a couple of things cheaper some where else!!! So, for the rest of the day I was bugged. Super bugged. And I felt that he should apologize to me. And the next day I was bugged. (But getting better.) Of course, there was still no apology. So the day after that, after the kids where in bed I told him that I would appreciate an apology. And he goes, "You're still mad about that?" Ummm...HELLO! I just want you to acknowledge that you were rude! Urgh... Anyway, he finally apologized. But, now, in an effort to preserve some happiness, I've banned him from grocery shopping with me. MEN

ya, parker doesn't like my grocery store either--I think you and I shop at the same one...I can't look at the receipt when he goes because he doesn't like to get the generic, so, of course, it is more expensive. I am with you all the way!

Food prices just keep going up! It's driving me crazy. And, Jared and I do NOT do the grocery shopping together. Doesn't work at all.

Even worse than taking a man to the store (I usually keep my husband busy pushing Brynna around for entertainment) is sending one to the store. For my husband, the list is just a very loose guideline and all sorts of interesting and often outrageously priced items make it into the cart. "Can you get bread and milk?" can cost $50 on this plan! Sorry, honey--I love you tons though!

When we shop Michael picks out the most expensive things, scoffs at my exclamation of horror and then has a kinipchin fit when it all rings up.

Ok so what do is get a dollar bill out and start slapping them around with it, saying "this is what I'm 'whining' about--real money, that we use to buy all your toys and that we end up not having enough of to buy milk and pay the power bill, etc. As soon as you win the lottery or find the goose that lays the golden egg, I'll stop whining!"

My Jeff is way too creative when he goes shopping. But he gets desperate when we are out of everything since I put off shopping. He comes home with weird items that I never buy because of cost---and they're gross! He claims he's been deprived. Whatever! (LOL) As far as apologies go, it's a rare day for him to hand out an unsolicited apology. I guess if I'm not sharing the info that I'm bugged then he's not going to realize it. Still, it's hard not to hold him responsible for information he doesn't have. Anyway, good luck with the groceries! Even the cheap places aren't cheap anymore.

love, JenLin
