Merry Christmas Everyone
I hope everyone had a great Christmas, I did! We spent Christmas Eve at my Parents house and played games, ate, and talked. It was a lot of fun! Then we went home and Christmas morning opened presents with the kiddies. Owen still didn't get it, but I'm sure that next year he'll be ready. Shay was a lot of fun. She was so excited to open everything, and then she would be so happy with all of her presents. It was so cute! Then we went to Jeff's parents for the rest of the day, where we...played games, ate, and talked. I was very excited when it snowed on Christmas Eve! To me, Christmas just isn't Christmas with out new snow, and the past few years just haven't made the cut. So this year was great.

Bye Liz!

This weekend Jeff's sister came into town from Texas. I love when she comes, because everyone gets together and we just play games and watch movies all day. We were up WAY too late Friday and Saturday playing games like Nertz, Hand and Foot, Settlers, Bohnanza, and I can't remember what else. Then we also decided it would be fun to watch The Office, so we rented the first 2 seasons and had an Office marathon. Can I just say that I now know that I have really been missing out on this show. It's AWESOME! Anyway, she had to go back home today, and I just want to say that we miss you already! Why in the world do you have to live 2 days drive away? We can't wait for you to come back...Bye (snif).
Snow!

I'm not a huge fan of winter. It's cold, wet, and dark. BUT...I love the first couple times it really snows. Not just an inch, but lots of snow. Well, it really dumped snow on Happy Valley this weekend. From Saturday morning, throughout the day and into the night it just snowed. And it was big flakes! I just thought it was really cool.

This may be YOUR lucky day...

Great new Townhouse recently on the market!! (Just kidding, I'm not trying to sell my place on my blog. But if you'd like to learn more you can find it on ksl.com, utahrealestate.com, and many more places...) We are officially on the market as of Tuesday. Luckily, we've had a few families come by and see it already. So, I'm optimistic right now. Check back with me in a week or two to see if anything has come of this yet. And I've decided that I love to move. I actually think it's fun to box up everything and move it somewhere else; live there for a little while, and then go and do it again. I recently came to this realization, since we decided to sell our house.
By the way, any one know of some great condo's for sale?

Can anyone see my profile picture?
I can't see if my profile picture is working or not. Can anyone see it? What in the world am I doing wrong?
Happy Halloween!
We had a great Halloween this year! I bought way too much candy. But, I left the best candy for last, and so I didn't even have to open it! We dressed the kids up early, so that they could wear their costumes all day, and I think they loved it. Jeff had to work, so I took the kids trick-or-treating by myself. First we went to my parents neighborhood. We met the Welchs there, and went around with them. It was a lot of fun! Then when we finished there, we came back to our neighborhood for some more! At our neighborhood, most of the families were out trick-or-treating, so we didn't hit very many houses, but that's okay, because we still managed to come away with quite a load. Shay ran from house to house ringing door bells and collecting candy (pretty much her dream come true). Owen loved to be outside with everyone. Then we went home! I hope everyone had as much fun as we did!

Changes
Sometimes nothing changes in your life for a long time. You know you're in that zone when people ask you what's new and you reply, "Same old, same old." (At least that's what I say) Anyway....
I am no longer in that zone. Whether that's good or bad is still "TBD".
First: I am not working at my job anymore. I haven't left the workforce for good though (not yet, at least), I am looking for another job. BTW- Anyone know of a great paying job in my area???
Second: We are seriously contemplating selling our house. (Snif, snif) THIS is a sad development, but probably best for our family right now. Third: We are also doing our best to get Jeff back into school. I am excited about this one, because it means that sometime in the future, we can rely fully on Jeff for our support! Hooray!
Fourth: I am pregnant. Just kidding! I really just wanted to throw you all for a loop. It was fun.

Here he is....

Okay, I finally decided to do this tag about my husband...
What's his name? Melvin Jeffrey Sillito(that's right...Jeff is his middle name.)
How long have you been together? We've known each other for 7 years almost and married for 6.
How long did you date?We only dated for 2 months before we got engaged. Then we got married 4 months later. What can I say...he knew I was the right one, so he went for it...
How old is he? 27
Who eats more? Jeff does. But you wouldn't know it to look at him.
Who said I love you first? Jeff did. I was actually shocked when he said it. I was not expecting it.
Who is taller? Jeff, by a mere 1 1/2 - 2 inches.
Who sings better? I do. Jeff doesn't sing. He more talks loudly, and sometimes changes notes. Sometimes.
Who is smarter? I'd like to say me, but knowing Jeff's genes, he probably is. (He just hates school.)
Whose temper is worse? Define worse. We have different styles. I prefer to yell my feelings and frustrations, while he prefers to ignore and say nothing.
Who does the laundry? I do! He hates it.
Who does the dishes? Again, me. (How did I get stuck with all the crappy jobs?)
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? That depends. What side of the bed is the alarm clock on?? THAT'S the side I have to sleep on.
Who pays the bills? I do. We tried letting him take care of it, because I was stressing so much...But I stressed out more when I wasn't in charge.
Who mows the lawn? Jeff does! (Side note: Our lawn is about 6 feet long and 8 feet wide. But it's still not something I want to do.)
Who cooks dinner? Honestly, neither of us. I get dinner for my kids, but I wouldn't call that cooking. I'd call it heating. We both HATE to cook.
Who drives when you are together? Jeff does. But I don't like to drive when he's in the car. He mocks my driving.
Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? I don't know...me more than him. Whose parents do you see the most? Jeff's: we go over to their house every Sunday for a fantastic Sunday dinner(and I don't have to cook a thing!).
Who kissed who first? It was a mutual kiss, but he leaned in.
Who asked who out? Jeff asked me out because his sister told him to.
Who proposed? I find this question to be silly. He did of course.
Who is more sensitive? I would say me. But Jeff doesn't really like to show what he's feeling.
Who has more friends? Probably Jeff. There are a lot of people I like, but we usually DO things with people he knows.
Who wears the pants in the family? This is also a silly question. We both do. I hate skirts.

Bath Time!

At last! A bath time without Owen screaming! Owen has always hated taking a bath. It's been so hard to make myself give him one, when I know he'll just scream and cry the whole time. Well, last night I gave him and Shay a bath. He was very wide-eyed at first; not sure how he felt about this water. But, no crying yet. He did however, have an iron grip on my shirt and was standing. But then he gradually slid down into the water, and starting to play with the toys. It was great! I got to clean him without getting myself soaked! Then he discovered splashing, and that was it! He loves to splash! Anyway, I was just so happy that we've gotten past the i-hate-baths-stage. I will post pictures later today!(And I'll try to keep it G-rated! Ha!)

A new look
So, we recently chopped off Shay's hair. I was skeptical; I loved her long hair. But Jeff showed her a picture of herself from two years ago. Her hair was just above her shoulders and A-dor-A-ble! So she started asking us to cut her hair like the "princess" (herself...). Well, I finally took her to do it, and here is a picture journal of the event.
Look how long it is!

She is soo excited!

Being brave...even though running water is next to her face!

Doing everything the stylist asked her to do...

The final product...

I am so sick of...

1. My utilities company sending me late payment notices weeks after my payment has been posted! Hello? Anybody home?
2. Insurance companies!!!!!! Need I say more? I didn't think so.
3. Credit card offers coming out of my ears! If I wanted your card, I would apply for it!
4. Unexplainable equipment break down. What is the deal? Isn't there supposed to be a reason? Does technology now have the power to stop working for no good reason like the rest of us?
5. The combining of celebrity couple names to make one SUPER COUPLE! (ie. BENIFER, TOMKAT, BRANGELINA, etc...) It was a funny novelty when it started, but now it's just dumb. Please stop.

Blah blah blah
Well, I don't have anything special to add to my blog today, but I could use some suggestions! I am throwing a baby shower for a friend and I need something to do that's fun and cheap. Any ideas? How about for food? It's going to be around 1:00, so I need a light lunch idea. Thanks!!

Shaylee-ism's
Well, I think it's cute when we get to hear what little kids say, so I'm going to tell you some of the things Shay says from time to time:
1) Jamin' (this is a actually a person. Guesses on who it is? I'll give you a hint: this person is a relative.)
2) Did ya like me?
3) I can open it for ya!
4) It sure is...(raining in here, fun, etc)
5) (Name) is my best friend! (This has been any number of people. Play with her once, and it can be you too!)
6) (Chocolate, Disney Channel, ect)...is my favorite and my best! (She picked this up from Charlie and Lola. Too cute.)
7) Swimming-baby-capping-suit (Swimsuit)
Well, I can't think of any more right now. I'm sure all I have to do is call home and talk to her, and I'll get a few more. You know how it is!
I get to go camping!
Hooray! I get to go camping this weekend! I've been dying to go camping for months, and my opportunity has finally arrived! We're going to a gorgeous site, Mirror Lake. I can't wait! If only I had a great camera to take my scenic pictures with...Sigh. Well, when I get back I will post some pictures anyway!

Oh, Janan...
Okay, so I have a funny story. (Well it's funny to me) So, I saw a couple of movies recently. I had a lot of fun. I saw Stardust last weekend with Janan. And this week I saw Becoming Jane (also with Janan, Serena (a friend of mine), and the Welch's). As we are leaving the movie theater Janan grabs my arm and points to a poster for Stardust. "Jamie! You have to see that movie!" she says...
Oh, Janan. Are you really that old? Okay, I can see how she might forget once. But, the same thing happened last week when we went to see Stardust! Again, we're leaving the movie theater, talking about movies, and Janan says, "Jamie! Hot Fuzz is coming out on DVD! You have to see it!" (And yes, she took me to see that one, too.)
Oh well, at least I now know that I'm not memorable!!!!!!!!

Wendy, help me!
I was trying to switch my background so that the design would be on the sides, and the solid color in the middle...and I don't know what happened to it, but now I have no color! What did I do wrong??
New Job
Okay, as most of you know, I started a new job a few weeks ago. My job seems to be lots and lots of small, simple tasks. Well, yesterday I was in charge of a not so small and simple task, and it was fun. I need to come up with lunch once a month for Staff Meetings. So, I got to go around and buy stuff, pick stuff up, set up, take down, and return stuff (like containers from BYU Take Out. I had a great time! I got to get away from the office, buy things with someone else's money, listen to my music and sing really loud in the car. So I'm pretty sure that staff meetings is the silver lining to this job. I think I'll keep at it....

My major weakness
So, I have discovered what one of my major weaknesses is. (Said out loud, that sounds wrong...) Not to far in the distant past, Jeff really didn't feel like attending all of our Sunday meetings. Now, I'll not say that I've never had this same feeling, however, I can talk myself into going anyway, because I know that I should. Well, Jeff also knows, in order to get me on board, that he can't offer me just anything...like laz-ing (sp?) around the house, or shopping, or anything like that. So, smart man that he is, he offers me something I almost never get from him willingly...family pictures. It was a gorgeous day outside, and I love love love to have pictures of my kiddies and of all of us, really. So, I cave. It was worth it to me. I think we had such a nice time together, out in the mountains, just being together. Anyway, take a look at the slideshow. And I think you'll begin to understand why it is a major weakness for me...
Trying to be better
Alright, family. You asked for it, so I'm trying to be better about doing this. I guess I have to now that you know about it, right? No, really, I am excited to do it. It'll be fun!
I had a lot of fun yesterday, seeing almost all of my cousins from Uncle Pauls family! It's been years, but it didn't feel like it once we were together! Now I remember why we always had so much fun. I told my husband that I really liked seeing all of you, and he said he was surprised, because I've been married to him for 6 years, and he's never met any of you. So, I take that as a challenge for me to see you all more often. Anyone else going to accept this challenge?? And will someone please send me one of the pictures we took so that I can also post it here? Thanks! You guys are great.

Lately...

Hello again. Well, almost a month later and here is my 2nd posting! Not too bad, considering I just looked at my old journal and I've gone years without writing in that! So I just thought I'd mention some of the cute things my kids have done lately. A couple days ago I was in the kitchen getting something for Shay to eat. So, I gave her some food and she says to me "Gracias, Mama! Gracias!" Pause...and I'm wondering where she learned that and I'm just standing there amazed, when I realize I should reply... "De Nada, Shay-Shay." It was so cute. So, parents out there...if you want your kids to start learning Spanish with out doing any of the work, I'd recommend Handy Manny. Disney Channel. What a great channel. Anyway! O is rolling around like it's the coolest thing since ice cubes. He's really good at it. And instead of trying to crawl or army crawl or anything you normally see babies doing, he launchs himself with his feet while on his back. And then he rolls over to see if he's where he wanted to be or not. And if not, then he rolls back over and launchs again. It's pretty funny to watch, really. He is doing really well sleeping on his own too. He doesn't cry (usually), and he stays asleep all night. I'm so proud of him!

Giving this a go...
Okay, well, here goes. I don't know if this is actually going to be a regular thing or not. (I'm famous for trying things, doing well for about a week, and then never doing it again.) But, oh well. I'm bored and in need of something to occupy my mind. (The kiddies are asleep, so here is my 5%)
Let's see...Today was basically the stamp of my life. I got up, got ready, turned on the Disney Channel for Shay. Then I went to work. After work, I came home, sent Jeff off to work, and hung out with the Kiddies until bed time. Nothing extraordinary, but it was pretty good. OH! So, I've decided that since "O" is about 6 months old now that I can put him to bed and he can cry himself to sleep. I started this Monday. It was pretty brutal. But, we got through it. And I am happy to report that it has been getting better daily. Tonight was the best of all. He only cried for about 10 minutes, and even that was off and on. So, I also decided that I would put Shay-shay back in her bed for tonight. (She has been sleeping on the floor in our room.) So, wish me luck that they both can manage to stay asleep all night...
Okay, well now I've gotta go buy some food. TTFN...(or forever??)
